Yesterday we decided to surprise the kiddos! We took them out of school early and headed down to Texas to catch a Rangers game. It was our first game of the season and they were both very excited. Dawson decided he wanted to take a baseball and sharpie just in case he could get an autograph. So we got there early and watched the Royals take batting practice. He was able to get three autographs from some players on the Royals. All of the Rangers players didn't come out until game time. After getting our hot dogs and nachos, we headed to our great seats on the third base line about 25 rows up! In the 4th inning a girl approached Dawson and asked him his age and if he wanted to "Steal 3rd Base" after the 6th inning. Uhhhh Yeah, of course!!! He was so excited he could hardly sit in his seat. She got all his info and said she would be back to pick him up to take him down to the field. She came back and took Dawson and David to the left field wall where he would have to sprint to 3rd base, pick it up, and sprint back to the wall as fast as he could. He was up for the challenge!! Casady and I were anxiously waiting for the 6th inning to finish. Once it did the announcer said "Let's cheer on Dawson McKinney from Mustang, OK as he will try to steal 3rd base". I took a quick picture of the jumbo tron so we could see him and his name in lights!! Then I tried my best to get a video of him. He did great and finished in 28 seconds! They gave him a tshirt and let him keep the base....so cool!!! When they got back to our seats everyone that passed by would say "hey, there is the kid that stole 3rd base"! He loved it! Even though the Rangers lost, Dawson told David "Best Rangers game ever"!! Making memories!
