The Land Run!

Dawson has been studying the history of Oklahoma this month and has been anxiously awaiting the annual 4th grade Land Run! They had to come to school dressed in pioneer clothing. They had been divided into families and each had to provide something to the group. One brought the wagon, one brought supplies, and we brought...lunch! Dawson asked me to make hot dogs for his family to eat after they had claimed their land. He had a lot of fun leading his family to a nice piece of land on the school yard! It was exciting to watch!

Dawson was the leader of the wagon and was ready for the horn to sound!

They wanted a spot with trees and shade. (I think they were all thinking the same thing.) Found their land and were trying to rope it off so no one else could claim it.
After the madness they were able to relax and have some hot dogs!
